Max Craig Kelly was born on December 30, 2008 @ 12:03am. He weighed in at 6 lbs 7 oz and was 18.5 inches long.
Here we are on the way to the hospital- round 2!
After Max was born he was immediately taken to the NICU for testing regarding his heart. Spencer was able to go with him and give me updates as I waited in the delivery room. After about an hour Max was able to come in and give his mommy some cuddles.
This is Max about 8 hours old getting his first bath.
While in the hospital Max was being monitored constantly. The doctors and nurses were checking his heart rate, oxygen levels, respiratory rate, temperature, weight, and amount of milk at each feeding. He also had an IV to receive glucose water and antibiotics. All the tubes and montiors made it a little tricky to hold him. But it was such a blessing that all of his vitals and stats stayed in the normal range the entire time he was at the hospital.

Max was born early Tuesday morning. I was released from the hospital on Thursday. Max had to stay until Saturday. Here we are getting ready to go home with Max for the first time. 
First family picture! Morgen was not allowed to visit Max in the hospital because he has had a cold all week. He was very excited to meet his brother for the first time. His favorite thing to do this past week was look at pictures of Max on the digital camera.

Morgen already loves to hold Max. He has done a good job so far with being gentle- we'll see how long that lasts!

We feel extremely blessed to have our Max home safe and sound. His heart condition will be a constant worry but the doctors have reassured us that he will be able to be a normal, healthy baby. Right now we are anticipating his first heart surgery when he is around 3 months. In the meantime, we are so happy that he is home and are excited to figure out how to have 2 little boys.

Congratulations! I have been so remiss about actually checking blogs--I didn't even know he had been born! I am so happy for you that you can have him home and that he looks so healthy. Good luck with everything! And we will be praying for you when he goes in for surgery!
