Today we found out that Max's next surgery is scheduled for April 13th. We are excited and nervous at the same time. We are excited because we know this surgery will improve Max's health. Also, we are anxious to get the hospital stay over with. The nervous part of the surgery is obvious- my baby is having open heart surgery. Scary.
Originally the doctors thought the surgery would not be until the end of April or the beginning of May, but Max's oxygen saturation is lower then we want which is reason to move the surgery sooner. With his first surgery the pulmonary band ended up being a little tighter then the doctors wanted causing his oxygen saturation to stay below 70%. The doctors also felt comfortable moving the surgery up because Max has been growing at a steady rate. He is strong and gaining weight.
We are so happy with how well Max has been doing so far. Now we have a date to plan for and hopefully we will be more prepared then we were the first time around.

What a different experience it will be this time around. Being able to prepare for it will help so much. It's insane to think what his little body is going through, but it is even more amazing to see how well he is able to handle it all! What a special little guy you've got!
I'm sure you're feeling so many emotions right now. April will be a big month for you guys. We'll have to meet up before Max's big day. I'm sure he'll do great ... he's a little fighter! Love you all!
